Need an overnight or multi-day campsite to explore the Orange River?
The Bundi Base Camp (click on this link to calculate the distance from your starting point) is situated on the banks of the mighty Orange (Gariep) River. It is situated just across the Namibian border, 8km from Noordoewer. Bundi Camp and Chalets are located in the old River Rafters base camp which was used in the pioneering days to explore the Orange River Rafting and canoeing route that is now used through the Richtersveld. Bundi Adventurers is not only about canoeing and river rafting but about camping too. The Orange River and its scenery can be experienced from staying at Bundi Camp. Bundi Camp is not only an overnight stop but is also an exciting destination. Visitors often book for one night but end up staying longer.
There are 22 en-suite chalets, five camping sites, ablution blocks, a communal kitchen, lounge, and a large recreational hall at the base camp. There are also big lawns where children can play. During the hot summer months, there is nothing better than a cool swim in the river. Open-air safe parking is available for guests. This is a peaceful tranquil haven to escape the normal daily grind of city life. The perfect getaway for you to unwind and re-energise.
We have a total of 22 chalets and can sleep a total of 58 people. This excludes our camping. The accommodation offers en-suite facilities including flush toilets as well as showers. The different chalet options are as follow: 3 chalets with 1 queen sized bed, 15 chalets with 2 ¾ sized beds each, 1 chalet with 3 ¾ sized beds, 1 chalet with 1 queen size bed and 2 ¾ sized beds and 3 chalets with 1 queen size bed and 3 ¾ sized beds. All beds are of excellent quality, ensuring a good night’s sleep. For your comfort, all beds come standard with sheets made from 80-100% cotton. Additionally, linens and bath towels are provided.
A grassy area beneath trees serves as the campsite for all campers. We limit our camp to 5 camp areas; all with various amounts of people that can camp per area. During the reservation process, please confirm the number of people you wish to book. Communal bathrooms are provided with toilets and showers. Some sites have their own power points. However, be sure to request this at the time you make your reservation. Power points are located as follow: 5 at campsite at river chalets and 1 at the top chalet campsite area. Remember to bring your tent and camping equipment as we do not provide this.
