Description

We are seeking an experienced Camp Manager or Camp Management Couple to be based in Noordoewer, Namibia to enforce, maintain, and contribute to the maintenance, improvement and expansion of the high standards and offerings set for Bundi River Rafters.

It is a full-time position, and the key requirements are high and accurate performance, stamina, strong organisational ability, and excellent leadership qualities with experience managing large teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management
  • Strategy and resource planning
  • Property Maintenance:
    • Facilities management & operation and building maintenance.
    • Gardens and Grounds
    • Stores (Strict Stock control)
  • Staff training
  • Finances and controls
  • Health, Safety and Security
Requirements
  • Namibian Citizen (non-negotiable)
  • Must have matric/Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification preferably a degree or diploma in Hospitality/Tourism, Accommodation management.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in camp/lodge manager required.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written in English and Afrikaans
  • Familiar with all duties and procedures in the Maintenance Department
  • Minimum First Aid level 1
  • Basic computer skills, Word and Excel
  • Valid PDP and driver’s license
  • Good organizational and logistical skills
  • Effective at crisis management and good at making instant decisions.
  • Effective at managing and training staff
  • Good knowledge on the following:
    • HR
    • Logistics/resupply
    • Some bush/guide knowledge
    • Admin/financial understanding
    • Menus, food quality and food presentation
  • Food and Beverage training/Experience would be advantageous
  • Fire Marshall and Evacuation certification advantageous
  • Key Competencies:
    • Managerial skills and ability to make sound decisions.
    • Demonstrate attention to detail and be guest-and service-orientated.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Able to work independently and practise effective time management
    • Must be able to work under pressure and have problem solving mindset
